This note highlights what he intends as a fundamental distinction between BEING and EXISTENCE, which HMM was keenly interested in, particularly in relationship to his Catholicism and the Creation. His friend Fritz Wilhelmsen was an important interlocutor on all this, as FW discusses in his “Man’s Knowledge of Reality: An Introduction to Thomistic Epistemology.” which was published in 1956, around the time he meet your grandfather.
